Category benchmarks rank each category against its own history and against the same category in similar stores, regions and formats.
Why benchmark
A number means little on its own. Comparing periods shows the evolution of the business; comparing with similar stores by region, format or store type shows whether a category is performing below or above average and whether action is needed.
