Metrics
Traffic, dwell, flow, missions and every behavioural metric measured in store.
- Heatmaps→A heatmap paints the store floor plan by how much time shoppers spend in each spot, so the busiest and the most ignored areas are visible at a glance.
- Dwell time→Dwell time is how long shoppers stay in a zone, category or bay, measured from the moment they enter it until the moment they leave.
- Power hours→Power hours are the hours of the week with the most shoppers in store, used to plan staffing, replenishment and the timing of in-store media.
- Shopping missions→A shopping mission is the purpose of a trip (stock-up, fill-in, urgent item, fresh food) inferred from its path, duration, shopping tool and basket.
- Customer flow→Customer flow maps the routes shoppers follow through the store: where they go first, which direction they take in each aisle and where flows split or merge.
- Bounce rate→Bounce rate is the share of shoppers who enter a category or aisle and leave it without slowing down to look at any product.
- Traffic→Traffic is the number of trips that pass through a store, zone, category or bay in a given period.
- Visual contact→A shopper makes visual contact with a bay when they slow down below 45 cm/s in front of it, the speed at which products can be looked at.
- Shopping tools→The shopping tool (trolley, basket or basket trolley) used on a trip, and how behaviour differs between them.
- Visit duration→Visit duration is the time between a shopping tool leaving the collection area and reaching the checkout.
- Main aisle→The main aisle is the central corridor that distributes shoppers into the store; it concentrates most promotional space and a large share of impulse purchases.
- Blind spots→Blind spots are areas of the store that few trips reach or that shoppers cross without stopping, often invisible when you only look at sales.
- Occupancy and density→Occupancy is the number of shoppers in store at any moment; density is that number per square metre in a zone.
