Angle of Arrival, tags, anchors, APIs, privacy and deployment.
- Angle of Arrival (AoA)→Angle of Arrival is a Bluetooth 5.1 positioning method where antenna arrays measure the angle of a tag's signal to compute its position with sub-metre accuracy.
- AoA anchors and gateways→AoA anchors (locators) are ceiling-mounted antenna arrays that receive tag signals; gateways forward their data to the positioning engine.
- BLE tags→BLE tags are small Bluetooth Low Energy beacons fixed to trolleys, baskets, assets or wearables so they can be located by AoA anchors.
- Positioning accuracy→Shoppermotion locates tags with sub-metre accuracy, enough to know which bay a shopper stopped at, not just which aisle.
- Real-time location system (RTLS)→An RTLS continuously locates tagged assets or people indoors and streams their positions to software in real time.
- MQTT feed→The MQTT feed publishes live XY positions and device status to a private broker, for applications that need data the moment it happens.
- REST API→The REST API exposes trips, metrics, reports and positions so they can be pulled into BI tools, CRMs or your own applications.
- BI integrations→Shoppermotion connects out of the box with Microsoft Power BI and Tableau, and delivers periodic reports to each stakeholder.
- Data privacy and GDPR→Shoppermotion tracks shopping tools, not people: no cameras, no apps and no personal data, with data encrypted in transit and at rest.
- Deployment→A store is usually live within hours: anchors are installed, tags are fitted, the layout is calibrated and data starts flowing the same day.
