What it tells you

Fast purchases mean shoppers know what they want and find it easily: a sign of a clear layout, or of a mission-driven category. Slow purchases, with long dwell and several stops, often reveal choice overload, confusing signage or missing products.

Using it with other metrics

Read purchase speed together with bounce rate and engagement. A category with fast purchases and high bounce is a destination: shoppers go straight to one product and leave.
