Consumer brands

Always-on in-store data, not a one-week study.

Traditional shopper studies are manual: a few days of observation in a few stores, a report, and months without data. Shoppermotion measures your categories in store every day of the year, so you can follow your KPIs and see how TV, digital and in-store activations change traffic and behaviour at the shelf.

Why ad hoc studies fall short.

One week out of fifty-two

Manual studies cover a few days in a few stores. Seasonality, promotions and competitor moves happen in the weeks nobody observes.

Months between reports

By the time an ad hoc report is ready, the planogram, the promotion or the campaign has already changed.

Media that stops at the door

TV, digital and out-of-home plans are judged on reach and brand lift, not on what happened to traffic in the aisle.

No baseline to compare with

Without continuous data, it is hard to separate a campaign's effect from the normal ups and downs of the category.

Results that don't line up

Each study uses its own method, so results across retailers, banners and formats rarely compare.

A permanent source of shopper data.

From ad hoc to always-on

Every week of the year, not just the week of the study.

Shoppermotion records every trip in the stores where it is installed, every day. Instead of commissioning a study and waiting for the report, your team opens the data whenever a question comes up, for any week, store or category.

KPIs over time

Follow your category KPIs month by month.

Traffic, engagement, dwell and conversion for your planograms, tracked continuously. See the effect of a relaunch, a new pack or a price change as it builds, and compare it with the same weeks of the previous year.

Media, TV and in-store

See what your media plan does to the store.

Put your media calendar next to the in-store data. Check whether a TV flight, a digital burst or an out-of-home campaign brought more shoppers to the category, more stops at your shelf and more buyers, store by store and week by week.

  • Category traffic before, during and after each flight
  • Shelf funnel from passing to buying

Compare your planograms with the rest of the category and with competitors in the same stores, and with the same category in similar stores. The benchmark is always available, not only while a study is running.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

How is this different from a traditional shopper study?

A traditional study relies on observers or video over a short period in a sample of stores. Shoppermotion measures continuously in every equipped store with the same definitions, so results can be compared week after week and store by store.

Can we connect it to our media plan?

Yes. Share the flight dates of your TV, digital or out-of-home campaigns and compare traffic and behaviour in the category before, during and after each flight, against the same weeks of the previous year.

What does a brand see about its products?

Traffic, passers-by, engagement rate, dwell time and conversion for each planogram, compared with competitors and split by channel, from convenience stores to hypermarkets.

Is any personal data involved?

No. The tag is on the trolley or basket, not the person, and audiences below a minimum size are not activated, to protect anonymity.
