Retail Media Networks

Extend your retail media network into the physical store.

Your RMN already sells onsite and offsite media with digital metrics. Shoppermotion adds the in-store layer: how many screens you need and where, what each placement delivers, and closed-loop reports your brands can put next to the rest of their media plan.

Why in-store media is hard to sell today.

Onsite and offsite, but not in store

Platforms like Criteo, Epsilon and CitrusAd measure the website and the app. The store, where most sales still happen, has no equivalent data.

How many screens, and where?

In-store screens are expensive to install. Without traffic per location, networks guess, and end up with screens few shoppers see.

Brands ask for proof

Advertisers want impressions, reach and incremental sales per campaign, in the same format as the rest of their plan.

Inventory the adtech stack can't price

SSPs and programmatic buyers need audiences and verified impressions before they can price in-store inventory.

In-store media with the rigour of digital.

Screen planning

Justify how many screens you install, and where.

Before buying hardware, rank every candidate location by its forecast weekly impressions and the shopping missions that pass in front of it. See how much of the store's traffic each additional screen adds, and stop where the next one no longer pays off.

  • Forecast impressions per candidate spot
  • Reach added by each extra screen
  • A business case per store before the rollout

Brand reporting

Campaign reports brands can put next to their digital media.

For every campaign, brands get verified impressions, views and clicks per placement, visits to the category and incremental sales against a control group, with ROAS. The same definitions in every store, following IAB in-store retail media guidance.

Adtech and SSPs

The in-store layer for the stack you already run.

Shoppermotion doesn't replace your retail media platform. It adds store data to it: in-store impressions, audiences and results delivered through the API, so your team can combine them with Criteo, Epsilon, CitrusAd or your own ad server, and make in-store inventory available to SSPs and programmatic DOOH buyers.

  • REST API and periodic exports
  • Audiences matched to pseudonymised loyalty IDs where allowed
  • Impressions per placement and daypart for programmatic sales

Audiences

Sell audiences built from behaviour in the aisle.

Segments by shopping mission, visited categories, missed opportunities and shopping tool, activated on in-store screens by daypart or matched to loyalty IDs where the retailer allows it.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it work with our retail media platform?

Shoppermotion delivers in-store metrics and audiences through its REST API and periodic exports, so they can be loaded into the platforms and reporting tools your network already uses. It complements onsite and offsite platforms rather than replacing them.

What counts as an impression, a view and a click in store?

An impression is a shopper passing within the placement's visibility area. A view is slowing below 45 cm/s in front of it. A click is stopping below 25 cm/s to engage with the shelf or display.

How are sales attributed to a placement?

At checkout each trip is matched with its ticket. Comparing exposed shoppers with a matched group who were not exposed gives the incremental sales of each campaign, and from there its ROAS.

How are audiences activated?

On in-store screens by daypart, or synced to a Retail Media Network through pseudonymised loyalty identifiers where the retailer allows it. Audiences below a minimum size are not activated.
